The Mexican Secretariat of Economics announced that NMX-IJ-324-NYCE-ANCE-2022 will enter into force 180 calendar days after the publication of the Declaration of Validity in the Official Gazette of the Federation, which means the standard will become effective on 13 September 2022.
The Objective of this standard establishes the safety and interchangeability requirements, as well as the test methods and conditions that are required to show compliance of integrated LED lamps, which are intended for residential applications and for similar general lighting purposes, with:
- A nominal power of up to 150 W;
- A nominal voltage greater than 50 V and up to 277 V; and
- Bushings
according to Table 1.
- B12d, B22d, E11, E12, E14, E17, E26, E27, GU10, GZ10, GX53
NMX-IJ-324-NYCE-ANCE-2022 is not equivalent with the international Standard IEC 62560 for the following reasons:
- The
Mexican standard contains the following test methods which are different in their
structure and procedure:
- Interchangeability;
- Bending moment and mass that is provided by the lamp in the lamp holder;
- Protection against accidental contact with live parts;
- Insulation resistance;
- Dielectric strength;
- Resistance to torsion;
- Axial effort of Edison-type bushings;
- Cap temperature rise;
- Heat resistance;
- Resistance to flame and ignition;
- Creepage distances and isolation distances;
- abnormal operation; and
- Income protection.
- The
Mexican standard contains the following appendices which are not considered in IEC
62560 and are essential to verify compliance of LED lamps with the Mexican
standard:
- Appendix A (Normative) Sheets for integrated LED lamp sockets;
- Appendix B (Normative) Creepage distances, clearance distances and distance through insulation (DTI) for controllers that are protected against contamination through the use of coating or encapsulation;
- Appendix C (Informative) Information for lighting design;
- Appendix D (Informative) Creepage distances, clearance distances and distances through insulation; and
- Appendix E (Informative) Fault conditions.
