Brazil INMETRO approved “Portaria № 20” on February 15, 2017, which sets the technical and conformity standards for street lamps using discharge lamps and LED technology.

Mandatory certification for this product is required formally starting August 17, 2019.

Starting August 17, 2020, only compatible lamps for public road lighting may be distributed and sold.

Indications and instructions, internal and external wiring, protection against dust and moisture, and electrical characteristics (dielectric strength, insulation resistance and EMC).

Technical performance requirements include criteria such as photometry, light distribution control, energy efficiency, durability testing, thermal level testing, and ultraviolet (UV) resistance.
