In Australia, the requirements for children’s pajams are regulated by the Consumer Goods Safety Standard 2017.
This standard establishes mandatory requirements and applies to children’s pajamas, including pajamas, mainly knitted dress garments, dressing gowns, bathrobes, shirts for pajamas, and paper patterns for making children’s pajams. (Size 00-14)
Suppliers must comply with the Consumer Product Safety Standard 2017 beginning January 1, 2020. In addition, the retail packaging of the paper pattern should display clear and warnings about the flammability of some fabrics and pajamas styles.
The Warning text should read as follows:
FIRE WARNING
The text must be at least 2mm high and the “FIRE WARNING” text must be in bold capital letters.
