TEC has recently released an official update (amendment of notification no. 5-2/2021-TC/TEC/165 dated June 23, 2023) regarding the testing and certification of telecommunication equipment under the Phase V of the MTCTE regime.
- Mandatory Certification Date
The mandatory certification process under Phase V of the MTCTE regime will start from July 1, 2024. However, those interested can start applying for this certification through the MTCTE portal starting from July 1, 2023.2
2. ILAC Test Reports Acceptance
TEC has highlighted that for specific product categories, test reports issued by ILAC accredited laboratories from non-border sharing countries will be accepted until June 30, 2024 for the products as follows:
- Station for Cellular Network for 5G
- 5G Core
- Hypervisor
- E-band fixed radio relay systems
3. ILAC Reports Validity
TEC accept ILAC reports from non-border sharing countries only if they have been issued within two years of the date when the application is submitted.
