Thailand’s NBTC has announced NBTC notifications for the use of short range devices in the 5 GHz band, as well as the wireless long-term standard NBTC TS 1035-2562 using frequencies 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

This standard replaces the existing standard NBTC TS 1012-2551.

Major changes:

1. New standard NBTC TS 1035-2562 specifies EN testing standard version

(E.g. EN 300328 V2.1.1, EN 301 893 V2.1.1, EN 302502 V2.1.1, ETSI TS 136104 / ETSI TS 136101 V13.2.0)

2. Frequency 5.725 – 5.850 GHz

– 2.1 Allows additional standaard EN 302 502 for this frequency band.

(Previously this test standard was not allowed.)

– 2.2 The standard EN 300 440, temporarily permitted in the past, is no longer allowed in this standard. Therefore, this band 5.725 – 5.850 GHz, EN 302 502, FCC 15.247 or FCC 15.407 must be provided.

– 2.3 Allows additional technology of LTE in LTE or IMT in private network. This is the same band as previously opened LTE band 46. NBTC includes both technologies in this new standard.

3. Electrical safety requirements

Additional specification IEC 62368-1 is accepted (previously this specification only accepts TISI 1561-2556 or IEC 60950-1). This is equivalent to the previously announced NBTC TS 4001 – 2561 electrical safety, which allowed IEC 62368-1 on March 14, 2019. NBTC has updated this test standard.
