Pre-shipment ispections include the following certification procedures.

– SABER SYSTEM
– KUCAS
Kenya’s pre-shipment inspection certifications is mandatory and the eligible items include:
– Meat of bovine animals, fresh or chilled. – Carcasses and half – carcasses
– Meat of bovine animals, fresh or chilled. – Other cuts with bone in
– Meat of swine, fresh, chilled or frozen. – Hams, shoulders and cuts thereof, with bone in
– Meat of sheep or goats, fresh, chilled or frozen. – Meat of goats
– Other meat and edible meat offal, fresh, chilled or frozen. – Frog’s legs
– Other nuts including mixtures, otherwise prerpared or preserved, whether or not containing added sugar or other weetening matter or spirit, not elsewhere specified or included
– Butter, Dairy spreads, Other fats and oils derived from milk
All items corresponding to the import standard certification shall be cleared through the conformity certification procedure before shipment, and the exporter shall export the product after receiving the certification of conformity through the Kenya-designated pre-shipment inspection agency, and the export conformity certificate issued by this organization to the importer.
By submitting it, customs clearance is possible without a separate Kenyan Standard Institute approval procedure.
